Perspectives: A Turkey Revolution
“You never really understand until you consider things from his point of view...until you climb into his skin and walk around in it.” -Atticus Finch
Perspective is a growth area that I really need right now. It’s so easy to see things from your set of eyes and then just leave it there; always looking at situations from my own perspective has led to times of selfishness and pride. So once I realized this, I decided to start writing articles from the perspective of others. Some will be funny and others serious. So here it goes, I hope y’all enjoy this new segment of mine…
GOBBLE! GOBBLE! GOBBLE!
October 14th 2018,
My name is Turkey 7641 but my friends call me Gravy. I was born around 5 months ago right at the height of Spring. All my turkey buds and I live out here in Arkansas. On a normal day we just walk around the farm and eat lots of food. Our farmer, whom we all refer to as Papa, because we love him so much, always says, “I’m going to make all of y’all into big strong turkeys for the day of the big feast, Thanksgiving.”
November 25th 2018,
Thanksgiving is not what you think! It’s all a lie! Papa took all of the turkeys to the big feast, except me. He said that he was saving me for Christmas. I didn’t want to miss the feast though so I snuck out, and what I saw was revolting. All of my family was being eaten by Papa!!! I then ran into the forest where I’ve been hiding out for the last 3 days.
November 12th 2019,
This is my one warning. A turkey revolution is coming. I’ve spent the last year hiding from Papa and preparing for my revenge! I’ve made turkeys across America aware of what Thanksgiving truly is... a holiday to drive turkeys into extinction. Beware mankind...Beware Papa.
Love to all of my fellow Turkeys,
