A Sense of Purpose

October 30, 2019
By Khari Smothermon [12]

I run with those who people never see/never forgetting the invisible

I am lost in half of me/ as everyone is unbothered with who I “used to be”/ except those who hold my future with their fears

I cannot and will not sit still while my family burns/
for they held me when my household could not

They live loving, but see not the greatest love in existence/ because the ones charged with sharing it refuse to give grace/ as they were called to do

I will live in love in love in love/ for the invisibles like me/ because everyone should know they are truly seen.
